The city of Shanghai

Shanghai was the largest and most prosperous city in the Far East in the 1930s. In the last 20 years, it has become an attractive destination for tourists from all over the world. About 25 million people live in Shanghai spread over 15 districts.
The Huangpu River divides Shanghai into two major districts: Pudong and Puxi. The skyscrapers in Pudong are quite impressive. The TV and the Financial Tower are among the remarkable buildings along the river. On the Puxi side, you can explore the waterfront of the river on foot and get a taste of the old Shanghai.
While the climate in Shanghai can be cold in winter, it can also quite warm in summer. The mild seasons are spring and autumn with temperatures around 20 – 25 degrees Celsius.
Shanghai has a dense metro network, that is easy to use and comfortable at the same time. Taxis in Shanghai are relatively cheap as well.
Shanghai is also known for its numerous cultural events. The International Film Festival, Formula 1, many theatrical performances and concerts are held in Shanghai, so it never gets boring! For young people, the city is well known for its diversity. Bars and discos are available in a wide variety and very popular with both the Westerners and Chinese.
